In the 1750s there were warriors nearby bora bora invaded Rā‘iātea. A priest named vaita went into a trance and sound. One day more people would come(different kinds of people) they would all arrive in a canoe with no out no outrigger.This land will be taken by the warriors. viata said the rules will be destroyed. Vaita’s prophecy came true on 18 June 1767. A strange vessel was seen off the coast of Tahiti, where Tupaia now lived.also tupaia was a master navagator.
